My Project

We are the Panthinators Robotics team, and we are reaching out in hopes of receiving support for the purchase of Sphero robots. As a FIRST Robotics team, community outreach is an important part of our team. We do this through STEM nights at our elementary schools and various community events and would like to expand our reach even further. One of our goals is to host community ed classes where we would teach children basic robotics skills.

Our program has become so popular that the city has asked us to host classes through their community ed program; however, we currently do not have the funds necessary to buy the equipment needed to host these sessions.

These classes and community events help create valuable opportunities to expose children to STEM and Robotics, some of whom may not otherwise have the chance to interact with this type of program. The lessons will be taught by our robotics team members, which in turn helps reinforce the skills they have learned throughout their time on the Panthinators.

Our goal is to obtain 2 Sphero Bolt+ coding robots and cases for them. These items will allow us to teach children and our new members all levels of coding, robot manipulation, basic drive controls, and robot mechanisms. The Bolt+ robots will be ideal for beginners through more advanced users to learn coding in a fun and engaging way. This will allow individuals to learn and work with code and drive systems, articulating pieces, and prepare them for full-scale robot building.

As you can see, the purchase of these robots will be highly beneficial to not only the robotics team, but the community as a whole. We thank you for your consideration and any help you are willing to offer.
