My Project

This past year, I surprised my students after testing with 3D printed fidgets that my sister made using her Bambu A1 Combo 3D Printer. The students were mesmerized by the unique qualities of each fidget toy, and they were overwhelmed by the number of choices when it came time to choose which one they wanted to take home.

I realized in that moment that I could make my students' eyes light up like that more often if our classroom had its own Bambu A1 Combo 3D printer.

My students have always enjoyed being able to shop in our classroom store using their funds from performing their classroom jobs, but wouldn't it be even more exciting if they could MAKE the items themselves? I am requesting a Bambu A1 Combo 3D printer and multiple rolls of colored filament, so my students and I can explore the world of 3D Design! Each students can become a young entrepreneur and learn what it takes to create their own products! Students will learn about this awesome new tool and get to help determine how much items should cost based on the time spent making the item and the amount of materials (filament) that are needed to create the item. They can then choose to spend or save their classroom funds on these custom items in our classroom store.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
