My Project

Our classroom is working to create a dedicated calm-down and self-regulation space for students with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, and other learning differences. Many of my students benefit from having a quiet, clearly defined area where they can take a sensory break, practice coping strategies, and regulate their emotions before returning to instruction.

Standing classroom dividers will help create a physical and visual boundary that reduces distractions and provides students with a predictable, structured environment.

This space will be used proactively throughout the day to support emotional regulation, sensory needs, and positive behavior, helping students build independence while remaining engaged in learning.

By providing a designated area for self-regulation, these dividers will help students feel safe, supported, and successful. When children have the tools and environment they need to regulate their bodies and emotions, they are better able to participate in instruction, interact with peers, and reach their full potential. Your support will help create a classroom where every student has the opportunity to learn and thrive!
