My Project

I teach first grade in a community with a high percentage of military families. They are a very diverse group of learners that have a lot of heart, guts, and willpower! My school is a Title I-funded school which means all students receive free breakfast and lunch. I love that they are hard workers and learn best with hands-on learning.

Writing is an art that students need to practice in order to communicate effectively.

It also helps one's digital dexterity. This year we will focus on using pencil and paper alongside the computer in our quest for knowledge.

Computer skills are important but so is penmanship and the ability to express oneself with words.

Through the use of different types of writing utensils and a tool to sharpen them, we will sharpen our skills and brains through the art of writing.
