My Project

Our students are tasked with reading at least 15 minutes per day, which equates to a minimum of 400 minutes per month. We want our students to develop lifelong reading habits that will benefit them academically, physically, and emotionally. Along the way, students earn incentives to help encourage them and reward excellence.

This year, our focus is Reading Excellence Expected Every Day!

Our readers have requested food and snacks, candy, and squishies and fidgets as motivators. We polled all the students, and those were in the top 5. This project will allow us to provide small prizes and incentives to fund raffle prizes. Announcing winners each month will help generate excitement and promote a better schoolwide reading culture. Our school goal for the year is 2.5 million minutes of reading, which requires at least 75% participation.
