Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

First grade is when students are developing foundational reading and writing skills. With this project, my students will be able to use tools that will help them develop the reading and writing habits with the use of technology.

These resources are essential for my students to have structured as well as creative writing exercises using technology and visual arts.

The laptop will give my students a place to read, learn, explore, and then be able to create not only on paper but online as well, which makes writing an enjoyable experience. Some students know how to identify and write the letters of the alphabet while others are learning the alphabet, and some are already reading. With the vast amount of programs we use on a daily basis and the limited amount of technology in our classrooms, an additional laptop that is not outdated would improve our learning environment, especially when they know it will be used to be creative. Having the laptop on a specific place (rolling cart) where students can work individually or in small groups, would be great to be able to move it where it is needed.

At the end of the school year, the projects created on the laptop can be evidence of how much students used technology and visual arts to improve skills needed in their educational future. Students will know they are authors that have created projects to share with their peers and can share with their families as well.
