Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These heavy-duty rolling wagons will help our students move supplies and materials they will use on their senior photo field trips. We get to celebrate our graduating students once they have earned their credits at our alternative high school. Their paths haven't been the easiest or smoothest, but through their determination and grit, they pulled through. Because of their hard work and dedication, we like to honor their accomplishments by offering to take senior photos on location.

While they set up and do the work, the poses and shots across various locations can be time-consuming and exhausting to schlep the cameras, props, bags, robes, water bottles, and more, so these wagons would be invaluable for making the process smoother and more timely.

Ultimately, this would lead to better pictures and happier graduates! Our students are special because they choose their education and prioritize graduating, after most have experienced profound trauma or loss in their young lives. They don't get to be "regular" teens outside of school, with jobs and responsibilities that mirror those of many adults. Any time we get to add a bit of whimsy and wonder into their lives is truly precious, and these wagons will enable us to continue offering these photo field trips.
