Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My K–5 students are curious, energetic, and eager to communicate. They love discovering new words and are always excited when they can use Spanish phrases confidently in class. What I love most about my students is their willingness to try—even when learning a new language feels challenging. They celebrate small victories, whether it's correctly spelling a new word or successfully completing a conversation activity.

To continue building that confidence, my students need access to the right tools.

The Spanish dictionaries will allow students to independently explore new vocabulary, check meanings, and strengthen their reading and writing skills in Spanish. Instead of immediately asking for help, they will be able to take ownership of their learning and problem-solve on their own.

The student English dictionaries will support cross-curricular literacy development and help students make connections between their first language and Spanish. These resources will reinforce spelling, comprehension, and vocabulary skills that benefit them across all subjects.

The desk dividers will create a focused environment during independent work and assessments. Many students work best with fewer visual distractions, and these dividers will help them concentrate, think deeply, and feel confident in their own space.

With these resources, my students will grow not only as language learners, but as independent, confident thinkers who are proud of their progress.
