My Project

Our MTSS team supports students in grades K–6 who need a little extra help navigating big feelings, regulating their emotions, and getting back on track so they can be successful in school. At our school, we call our students Champions because we believe every child has the ability to overcome challenges and grow!

Our three MTSS offices are busy spaces where students come throughout the day to take a break, calm their bodies, process their emotions, and practice strategies that help them return to learning.

We are requesting new sensory and calming tools, including fidgets, Magna-Tiles, Play-Doh, timers, batteries, and a comfortable bean bag for students to use during breaks.

These materials will be used multiple times every day across our three MTSS offices. Fidgets and hands-on activities give students a safe way to release energy and focus their attention. Building with Magna-Tiles and creating with Play-Doh can help students slow down, regulate, and engage their senses. The bean bag will provide a comfortable space for students who need a quiet moment away from the classroom, while timers help students understand the length of their breaks and prepare to successfully transition back to learning.

Our goal is not simply to give students a place to take a break. We want to teach them how to recognize their emotions, identify what their bodies need, use healthy coping strategies, and return to their classrooms ready to learn. With these resources, we can create welcoming, calming spaces where our Champions feel safe, supported, and ready to try again.
