My Project

As a fourth-grade special education teacher in a Title I school, I work every day to create a classroom where every student can succeed. My students learn best when instruction is clear, engaging, and supported with visuals, but two simple tools would make an enormous difference in helping us achieve that goal.

Our classroom’s heating and air conditioning system is extremely loud, making it difficult for students to hear directions and classroom discussions.

This is especially challenging for students with attention, language, and auditory processing needs. A voice amplifier would allow me to project my voice clearly without straining it, ensuring every student can hear instruction the first time and stay engaged throughout the lesson.

A thermal printer and thermal sticker labels would transform the way I prepare classroom materials. I could quickly create labels for student supplies, learning centers, classroom organization, and visual supports. The printer would also allow me to make anchor chart pieces, vocabulary cards, and instructional visuals on demand, giving students the visual reminders they need while saving valuable planning time.

These may seem like small classroom tools, but together they will make our learning environment more organized, accessible, and efficient. My students deserve a classroom where they can hear every lesson, easily navigate their materials, and benefit from engaging visual supports every day.
