Our new classroom rug has quickly become a gathering place for our class. We use it throughout the day for morning meetings, social-emotional learning, stories, group activities, movement breaks, and simply spending time together as a classroom community. The flexible seating and calm spaces have also given students options when they need a quieter place to regulate, reset, or learn.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited to see the new materials in our room! The smiley-face rug was an immediate favorite, and it has helped us create a defined space where we can come together. In our classroom, learning doesn't always look like sitting at a desk with a pencil and paper. Sometimes learning means practicing how to sit with a group, listen to a story, interact with a peer, regulate big emotions, or successfully participate in an activity. Having welcoming, comfortable spaces where we can practice those skills makes a meaningful difference for my students.\r\n\r\nWe will continue using these materials every day as we work on academic skills, communication, independence, social skills, and emotional regulation. Your generosity helped turn an ordinary classroom into a space designed around what my students need to be successful. Thank you for investing in my students and giving them a classroom where they can learn, grow, and belong.","fullyFundedDate":1784140514430,"projectUrl":"project/room-to-grow-calm-spaces-for-learning/10306061/","projectTitle":"Room to Grow: Calm Spaces for Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Muir","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10518184_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1783911292599","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10518184"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39493","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":300,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":38,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":79,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":39493,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Paradise Valley Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Paradise Valley Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wyoming/natrona-county-school-district-1/paradise-valley-elementary-school/39493"}
