Because of you, our classroom has become a hands-on science and art space where students actively experience the concepts we study. Your materials have supported weekly enrichment projects such as using embroidery thread to stitch \"Sock Monster\" traits while learning about alleles and inheritance, dyeing tote bags with indigo to observe oxidation in real time, creating landform maps on cardstock to explore how geography influences climate, and painting bioluminescent organisms on black cardstock with glow-in-the-dark paint to understand the chemistry of living systems. Students were thrilled when the supplies arrived. They eagerly helped unpack each box, asked questions about every item, and even tried to sign up for projects that immediately sparked their interest.\r\n\r\nOne of the most anticipated upcoming projects is creating sensory bottles before state testing. Using glitter, mineral oil, food coloring, plastic ducks, and bottles, students will design calming tools while learning about density and liquid behavior. They will also reflect on how these tools help manage stress and connect that understanding to our study of the nervous system. Because of you, my students are not just learning science from a textbook. They are seeing it, creating it, and experiencing it in ways that make learning meaningful and memorable.
