My students were so excited to see a new set of \"toys\" as they think, and were very eager to learn about them. My students are so much more fluent up to 10 than they have been in the past. I feel my students will be better at addition and subtraction when we get to that in the spring. \r\n\r\nRight now we use the math stackers as reinforcement for counting and ordering numbers up to 10. These books have helped to connect the setting and the characters to the story. These new math manipulatives are perfect for my little learners! When we explore, we like to exercise our brain. They could not wait for math time to explore. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to use these new learning tools throughout the entire school year. We use them for small group math centers. It is important for children to learn through play and explore and build. We need to work all parts of our brains. The pop it manipulatives can be used for building numbers, adding, and subtracting. The students are so excited to read these books throughout the year. We will use them for different themed units. We will read the books whole group, discuss the books, and then do activities small group. When students are done with their work, they can go to library area to look at books as well.
