The students have had so much fun learning new things with the items that were purchased. I have students in my classroom who love to have hands on and build using manipulatives. When the students saw the STEM building activities they were so excited to start using them and working together. One item that the students worked together on was to build a boat using straws and connectors. The students really worked together, working on how to communicate what was needed where. Watching students develop communication skills, and how to work together is such a huge milestone in Kindergarten! \r\n\r\nThe students also have had such a fun time doing a 'letter of the day' and paring an activity with that letter. Some of the days were B-Bubbles, O-Origami, and P-Pen day. Having the students excited about their learning is so fun to see in the classroom, and I have you to thank by providing these materials! We are so excited that our new Story Champs box has arrived and been unpacked. The kids have been loving interacting with the stories and can relate their own personal life back to the text easily. \r\n\r\nI have also seen how this program has helped encourage my students to be more attentive and listen to the story structure while we read. Story Champes has really helped them identify key components within each text! The students have also started retelling those key details orally and by writing. \r\n\r\nMy favorite part of this program so far was seeing my struggling writers complete a whole story about their lives by using the Story Champ model!
