These doodlers allow for a station to come into play that has given them the experience to not only use these tools (which isn't a common experience for them) but learn how to create with them.\r\nStudents were able to create small sculptures, both 3D and 2D, and they even began experimenting with the doodlers on objects that already existed. Both were great!\r\n\r\nA lot of times there is an offer for a variety of colors with doodlers but really, the students seem to gravitate to solid colors and just go. First Chapter Friday books continue to be a hot commodity in my classroom, and students have appreciated access to more copies and new, updated titles.\r\n\r\nSixth graders are at that weird age where middle grade books are sometimes too juvenile, and young adult books are sometimes too mature. Thank you so much for helping these students stay engaged with reading by providing books that are just right. Students appreciate that these texts recognize and engage with their increasing interest and awareness of social relationships, family circumstances, and the broader world. I appreciate that these books are meant for this age group. I went through a phase when I was their age where everyone was going straight from \"Babysitters' Club\" to \"Jurassic Park.\" I was embarrassed to keep reading kids' books, but I knew the Michael Crichton and Stephen King novels my peers were reading would scare me. I am so grateful that we are in a golden age of late middle-grade and early young adult literature, and I appreciate your help sharing that enthusiasm with my students!","fullyFundedDate":1738181020216,"projectUrl":"project/capturing-kids-excitement-for-reading/8857047/","projectTitle":"Capturing Kids' Excitement for Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kreisa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8194391_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y100&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741468585518","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8194391"},{"teacherId":8848068,"projectId":8882809,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your support.
