One of our favorite moments has been using the Mercy Watson series for our daily read-aloud time. The students are completely engaged as we follow Mercy's funny adventures, and they often burst out laughing at the silly situations she gets herself into. It has quickly become a highlight of our day.\r\nWhen the books first arrived, the students were so excited to see a whole set of bright, new stories just for our classroom. Many of them immediately recognized Mercy Watson and couldn't wait for me to start reading. Their enthusiasm made it clear how much these materials mean to them.\r\nIn addition to the books, my students have been loving the blend cards and hands-on literacy materials. These resources give them the chance to actively practice reading skills by building and blending words, which makes learning feel more like a game. They enjoy working together, sounding out words, and using the materials to strengthen their confidence as readers.\r\nThese resources have sparked wonderful conversations about characters, predictions, and story events while also giving students meaningful opportunities to practice foundational reading skills. As we continue using these materials, students will keep building their phonics skills, practicing blends, retelling parts of the stories, and making connections between the books and their own experiences.\r\nThank you for helping bring such joy and excitement to our classroom. Because of your kindness, my students now have access to a growing collection of books that match their current reading levels and help fuel their excitement for reading. We also have a few new literacy activities as well. The moment the books arrived, the classroom buzzed with joy and curiosity. When I opened the boxes the students were very excited. I shared with them how I have more appropriate books that they can read now. The students all cheered. It was a powerful reminder of how access to the right materials can build both skill and confidence.Since then, we've incorporated the new books into our daily reading routine. Each day, students select \"just right\" books from the new additions for independent reading and take-home practice. It's amazing to see them engaged in meaningful conversations about books, practicing fluency, comprehension, and most importantly, developing a true love of reading. We've read to our classmates, building speaking skills and a community of readers. Thanks to your support, they'll have plenty of rich, level-appropriate texts to choose from.Your generosity has made a lasting impact.
