The materials greatly helped the students a lot. They were overwhelmed with the variety of the materials which they can use to suit their tastes. Most of them wanted to try everything. They find the smelly glitters beautiful. \r\n\r\nThe project is a relief to the students especially when they do not feel well physically or mentally. They use colors, cut outs, symbols, and many other visual elements to translate their unexpressed emotions into an image or art object that they can share and post on the board. It also serves as the student's safe space wherein he/she can express his/her own thoughts freely.\r\n\r\nThere was a time when I had difficulty letting the student participate in our lesson. Instead of me being annoyed with her reactions, I offered her to do some artwork. I told her to choose from the different materials on the table and the cart. She made some color etchings and after a few minutes she worked with us. Every time she comes into the room she gets her unfinished work and tries to do some scribblings but this time she does it while participating in the class discussions.\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for supporting our endeavors.","fullyFundedDate":1755910819001,"projectUrl":"project/expressions-through-art/9272088/","projectTitle":"Expressions Through Art","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pabayos","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9664484"},{"teacherId":9842226,"projectId":8952477,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of basketballs to our girls program! Our female athletes were so excited when they saw the large box of basketballs arrive at school and know that strangers from across the country cared enough about them to donate these to our program.\r\nEach team is receiving one new ball to be used as their \"game ball\" for the season and upcoming summer league. The pride that they felt as they were able to use these brand new balls, instead of the \"hand me downs\" from teams prior was such a sight to behold. \r\nWe hope to continue fundraising for more equipment and are hopeful to reach more young ladies in our community to try the sport of basketball. \r\nWe appreciate your support of female athletics!","fullyFundedDate":1735226231171,"projectUrl":"project/everyone-watches-womens-sports-and-dona/8952477/","projectTitle":"Everyone Watches Women's Sports and Donates Them a Basketball!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Herber","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9842226"},{"teacherId":9656815,"projectId":8687789,"letterContent":"On behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend our sincere gratitude for your generous donation. Your support has provided essential supplies, including markers, scissors, pencils, and calculators, to our high school Multilingual Learner classroom, filing the diverse space with tools for success. \r\n\r\nThe impact of your kindness goes beyond simply supplying materials. It has helped foster an environment where resilient and hard-working immigrant students are able to overcome their various challenges, helping them feel valued and empowered. Many of my students have had to adjust to a new language and culture while also facing financial hardships that limit their access to even the most basic school supplies. My students occasionally request to borrow markers and colored pencils to take home, so that they can complete their projects. You make it possible for these young minds to explore their creative talents. Additionally, having a class set of calculators ensures the students can practice calculator skills and actually use one to do their homework. As a simple technology tool, the calculators are building their confidence and many students appreciate the accessibility during ACT testing. \r\n\r\nYour donation has alleviated these struggles, ensuring that every student can engage in their lessons without the added stress of lacking essential tools.
