To peers they just look like they are listening to music. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for making this possible for my students. Giving middle schoolers a chance to choose the books they read fosters a sense of ownership and independence in their learning. When students are allowed to pick a book that interests them, they are more likely to engage with the content and develop a love of reading.\r\nI am also happy to offer students books of their choice in order to support diversity and personal growth. I teach students with emotional behavioral disorders. These students are arguably the ones in school who hate reading the most. They dislike it with great passion and often seek to avoid reading at all costs. Thanks to you, our classroom library has started with books that will intrigue and motivate my students to read. And this has been the case so far! \r\n\r\nLet me tell you about one student in particular who is thriving due to your donations. I have a student who in three school years has not gained literacy levels. This student has stayed on the same level, a Kindergarten level for the last three school years. This student should be reading at a Level Z. They have been stuck at a level F. The levels go A to Z in a progression, where by 6th grade, students should reach level Z mastery. This student is significantly behind grade-level. Due to your generosity, this student has access to a variety of more books at their reading level and has for the first time in three years gone up to a level G! \r\n\r\nYour donation means the world to my students and our classroom. My students were so excited to hear how much others outside of their building care about them and want them to grow in reading. One of the all-time favorites purchased so far is Five Nights at Freddy's. My students could not wait to read those books. They are often negating with each other on who can read which book. Thank you again for your kindness. It is truly appreciated by each of my students.","fullyFundedDate":1733247352700,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-classroom-library/8821817/","projectTitle":"Special Education Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Stadler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9778526"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38663","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":317,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":11,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":68,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":67.5,"schoolId":38663,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Perry Tipler Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Perry Tipler Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/oshkosh-area-school-district/perry-tipler-middle-school/38663"}
