The iPad helps students engage with lessons through interactive reading, math, and communication apps that adapt to their individual learning needs. For many of our students, being able to see, hear, and interact with content at their own pace builds confidence and allows them to better understand concepts that were previously challenging.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the iPad is how hands-on and responsive it is. They can touch the screen, hear immediate feedback, and celebrate small successes right away. This makes learning feel fun and achievable rather than frustrating. The case has also been essential, giving students the confidence to use the device independently while keeping it safe and accessible throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with this technology. Students who struggle with reading or writing have used the iPad's speech-to-text and audio support to express their ideas more clearly. Others who need help with focus or motivation are more engaged when lessons are presented in an interactive format. We have also seen students who are typically hesitant to participate become more willing to try, take risks, and show what they know when using the iPad.\r\n\r\nThis donation has made a meaningful difference in our classroom. The iPad and case have helped our students feel capable, included, and excited about learning. We are incredibly grateful to our donors for providing a tool that supports both academic growth and student confidence every day.","fullyFundedDate":1760709771276,"projectUrl":"project/supporting-students-with-disabilities-ga/9761941/","projectTitle":"Supporting Students with Disabilities Gain Access to Supportive Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Slick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9003202_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759109084494","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/slick"},{"teacherId":178714,"projectId":9622912,"letterContent":"I cannot thank you enough for your support of my project! The day I put the light covers on, my students were absolutely thrilled. Our classroom now feels so light and airy with our new \"cloud cover.\" Gone are the days of harsh fluorescent glare and constantly trying to find the right balance between bright enough and too bright. Now I can simply flip the switch and know the light will shine through in a calming shade of blue. Even on our cold, blustery Wisconsin afternoons, our classroom feels bright and welcoming.\r\n\r\nThe students especially love when I bring out the cloud light to help us shift from \"recess brains\" to \"learning brains.\" It has become such a helpful tool for guiding our breathing and slowing down when we're feeling overexcited or anxious. It's wonderful to have something I can grab in an instant, instead of scrambling to find a video to lead the class through calming breaths.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and kindness!","fullyFundedDate":1757357103061,"projectUrl":"project/soften-the-light-brighten-our-minds/9622912/","projectTitle":"Soften the Light, Brighten Our Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bertram","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp178714_orig.jpg?crop=450,450,x302,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596856505544","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/178714"},{"teacherId":9654330,"projectId":8649556,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating these supplies to our classroom! Everyone who has stopped by has admired it! The kids were so excited when we got the new carpet. They have been working so hard to keep it in great shape! \r\nThe carpet has allowed our students to have plenty of personal space to learn and grow. Each morning our class gathers around the carpet to start our day with a morning meeting. Here we learn basic skills like how to greet someone. We also learn calming techniques for when we are feeling overwhelmed or upset. Our class carpet is our place for creating a classroom family. We take time each week to celebrate our friends' good times and comfort them through their difficult times. Our carpet is certainly the hub of all our classroom activities. \r\nThroughout the day the students gather on the rug for the large group learning time. But having such a big space for learning has also increased our ability to use it for small groups as well. Now the different teachers who work in my room can have small groups of students working together, all on the rug at the same time. \r\nThank you again for your generous donation! It has truly made a difference to the learning in our room!","fullyFundedDate":1733271520739,"projectUrl":"project/a-space-to-learn-and-grow/8698674/","projectTitle":"A Space to Learn and Grow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bertram","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp178714_orig.jpg?crop=450,450,x302,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1596856505544","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/178714"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38659","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":410,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":86.3,"schoolId":38659,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Oaklawn Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Oaklawn Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/oshkosh-area-school-district/oaklawn-elementary-school/38659"}
