Since the donation included plant pots and grow lights Students were able to start out plants before we usually could in our area. Students have been able to see the plants growing within our classroom and measure the height of their grow. They are discussing reasons why some are growing faster then others and what needs to be done to keep the plants growing healthy. The grow lights have been helpful in the plants success to grow because the Wisconsin weather can be all over the place and the windowsill to place plants on can be very cold. \r\n\r\nThe lap desks have been great for students who need to work in an alternate place or choose to work next to a friend with a comfortable seat and hard writing surface. The students can move and enjoy working while not in a typical desk that can be hard and cold. Students were able to use the pencils and colored pencils to create and draw what they saw happening with the plants over time and to complete a variety of lessons within the classroom. The magnet blocks were a great asset during the cold weather and inside recess.
