Students were very excited and signed up immediately. However, our school was in need of volleyball equipment. We played last year with a very limited supply of volleyballs and even borrowed our baskeball teams jerseys. Players had to practice as a group of 3 since we had only 4 volleyballs. They had very little time on individual form with a ball, bumping, and serving. This reflected in our ability to win games (not that that was the focus, but lost games can effect confidence). This season has been so different! \r\n\r\nWith your help, each player on the team was able to practice on their own skills. Each player practiced simultaneously on bumping, serving, and ball control. With this ability, we showed up on the court confident, well prepared, and won game after game. My players worked hard throughout the season and won 3rd place! After a challenging game we'd reflect during the next practice. They would talk about what they felt they could work on and they'd take a volleyball and go practice that skill on their own or with a teammate. The accountability, team work, relfection, and pure joy - I am so proud. More importantly, THEY were so proud of themselves! This couldn't have been possible without the equipment. \r\n\r\nI can't wait for season 3. We are now more prepared than ever. Students in the school have seen the pride on my players faces and are excited to be able play in upcoming seasons. We appreciate the opportunity given to us by donors like you.","fullyFundedDate":1758935848945,"projectUrl":"project/volleyballs-to-bump-set-and-spike/9741378/","projectTitle":"Volleyballs to Bump, Set, and Spike!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brashear","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4345006_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1503346757497","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4345006"},{"teacherId":8581739,"projectId":8775472,"letterContent":"I just wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you for your generous donation toward our art supplies! Your support means so much to us and is making a big difference in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we were able to get paint, Posca pens, and plaster—materials that have already sparked so much creativity among our 3rd through 8th graders. The plaster was a big hit, especially with the 3rd graders, who made their very first sculptures ever (birds). Seeing their pride in their work was truly heartwarming. Of course all my grades love the Posca pens. They love the array of colors and the ability to add fine details.\r\n\r\nThe paint has been used in countless projects across all grades (masks, sculptures, mini rooms. Monochromatic paintings to name a few).
