Most of our students have never been in a school setting before or recently turned 3 years old. Having sensory supports available for them throughout the day has really helped them transition into the new routines. \r\nThe stepping stones have been so fun for our students to safely expand their comfort zones by exploring the textures with their shoes off. At first they tried them with shoes on but after feeling the textures with their hands they are more comfortable exploring them in their socks and they come back to these day after day. \r\nThe sensory bottles provide something for our students to hold on to while we are singing or giving short directions. We have noticed they are able to sit for longer time periods while holding on to the different sensory objects.\r\nOur staff and students are very grateful to have access to such a wide variety of sensory tools to help them better succeed in a classroom setting.
