Because of you, our students now have access to engaging oral hygiene materials that have quickly become a favorite part of our classroom. When the box first arrived, the excitement was immediate—students' faces lit up as they explored the new tools and supplies. Even now, they continue to light up every time the \"oral hygiene\" box comes out, eagerly anticipating the fun and learning that comes with it.\r\n\r\nThe materials have inspired meaningful play and creativity. Students regularly engage in pretend play, taking on the role of dentists and hygienists, giving their \"patients\" names and imaginative backstories. They remind one another when it's important to brush teeth, model healthy routines, and even create gold and silver \"grills\" using Play-Doh, all while laughing and learning together. These moments of play are building confidence, language skills, and real-world understanding in a way that feels joyful and natural.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our next steps include continuing to expand these lessons by reinforcing daily hygiene routines and connecting them to broader health and self-care concepts. Your support has given students not just materials, but memorable learning experiences that they carry with them beyond the classroom. We are truly grateful for the peek you took into our classroom and for the lasting impact you've made on our students' learning and happiness.","fullyFundedDate":1758834249254,"projectUrl":"project/sparkle-and-shine-dental-hygiene/9383710/","projectTitle":"Sparkle and Shine: Dental Hygiene","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cheramy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2018726_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1505099728654","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-cheramy"},{"teacherId":2018726,"projectId":8642374,"letterContent":"Wow! Thank you so, so much for your generous donation to this project. Your support has made a meaningful difference in our classroom, and I truly appreciate it. I can hardly believe how quickly time has passed—it feels like just yesterday we were setting everything up, and now the materials have become such an essential part of our daily routine!\r\n\r\nThe modular pieces have quickly become a favorite on the rug. They're used in so many creative and meaningful ways throughout the day. At times, they transform into a cozy couch, offering a soft and inviting space where students and adults alike can sit, rest, read a book, or simply take a moment to reflect and recharge.\r\n\r\nOther times, the pieces become tools for imaginative play and exploration. They might turn into a cave for a curious explorer, a powerful bulldozer at a construction site, a thrilling slide, stepping stones over bubbling lava, or even a towering structure reaching for the sky. The possibilities are endless, and it's been so joyful to witness the students' creativity, collaboration, and joy as they interact with these materials.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your kindness and generosity—it's had such a positive impact on our learning space!","fullyFundedDate":1731443663366,"projectUrl":"project/modular-seating-infinite-possibilities/8642374/","projectTitle":"Modular Seating: Infinite Possibilities!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cheramy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2018726_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1505099728654","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-cheramy"},{"teacherId":680981,"projectId":9132027,"letterContent":"Thank you very much for the generous contribution you made to our classroom. We were able to get so many sensory supplies! We now have kickbands on the bottom of each chair, so students can remain seated while self-stimming. We have calming strips for each student to mindlessly rub their fingers on while completing morning work. We have kinetic sand, which is slightly more malleable than clay and much less messy than normal sand. We have gel tablets, which our two kids who are in 2nd and 3rd grade and are still working on their alphabets use to practice their letters. We have legos for lego math, and for STEM; we also have magnetic tiles for STEM and sensory projects. We have many fidget toys the kids can use to calm or to release energy when calm behavior is expected. We have a weighted blanket to help students with attachment issues, or students who need weight/pressure to help them regulate. \r\n\r\nThese gifts to our classroom mean that more time and energy is focused on reducing the huge gaps we have in Wisconsin with respect to math and comprehensive literacy, \r\nbetween children from middle-income families and students whose families are living below the poverty line. In addition, Wisconsin has the largest achievement gap between black and and white students in the nation. This means that the children in our program are more focused on the skills that they need to have opportunity for social mobility in the future than they were just a month ago. \r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1741381120054,"projectUrl":"project/materials-for-sensory-integration-and-be/9132027/","projectTitle":"Materials for Sensory Integration and Behavioral Regulation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Calcese","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/680981"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_128328","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":84.8,"schoolId":128328,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about MMSD Intensive Intervention Programs on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"MMSD Intensive Intervention Programs","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/madison-metropolitan-school-district/mmsd-intensive-intervention-programs/128328"}
