With each unit, we have student decodable readers. I now have classroom characters (stuffed animals/dolls) that resemble the books. Students were so excited when they saw these! One student ran up and immediately gave one a hug! This is helpful for reluctant readers, and when we move to a new unit, introducing the character before the book builds excitement.\r\n\r\nI am excited to have other supplies, like musical instruments, personal mirrors and I-Spy books that would've enhanced learning in the earlier units. We are trying to differentiate between sounds, and see what our mouths are doing as we form our sounds. We are past those units at this point of the year now, but next year they will be used and loved for sure! The I-spy books will be used in our 5-senses unit as an activity to work on our sense of sight!\r\n\r\nGoing forward, we will continue working on our sounds, collecting more book characters and reading books.
