Many of the items I received were ones to help make the classroom a more organized place to be! I received bins that are great for students to store their literacy materials and baskets for us to keep extra supplies that we use! They are easy to get and use!\r\n\r\nMy students are prepared for the day when it is ready for them to use the materials. Our classroom looks organized, clean and everything matches. I love all the new storage items.\r\n\r\nI was also able to purchase some things for the kids to use in the classroom like recess balls and magnetic blocks. Both of these things are used daily by the students\r\n\r\nThank you so much for contributing to my classroom! I love how they also fold up for storage and make it comfortable if students need to sit on the floor!\r\n\r\nAnother fun item we received is the different ways to show me what they know! To help keep students engaged, I often have them hold up a white board with their answers. The children were immediately excited to explore the new resources. They have especially enjoyed creating designs with the magnetic building cubes and Pixel Art Challenge, experimenting with patterns, and proudly showing one another what they built. The magnetic letters have also become a fun part of our literacy learning as students search for letters in their names, match letters, and practice recognizing lowercase letters.\r\n\r\nThe fine motor and movement materials have quickly become classroom favorites as well. Students use the geoboards and spiral art activities to strengthen the small muscles in their hands while creating their own designs. The obstacle rings and Create-A-Path materials encourage them to move, plan, cooperate, and solve problems together. I have loved watching students give one another ideas, take turns, and keep trying when something does not work the first time. The marble maze sensory mats have also provided a quiet, calming option for children who need a little extra help regulating their bodies and getting ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these materials will be incorporated into our literacy, math, STEM, fine motor, movement, and independent learning centers. Your generosity has helped create a classroom where children can learn through building, creating, moving, and exploring. Thank you for giving my students tools that support not only their academic growth, but also their confidence, creativity, independence, and love of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1778061931329,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-for-curious-4-year-old/10125170/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning for Curious 4-Year-Olds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Y","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8099232_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1633220167503","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8099232"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_65968","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":786,"numTeachers":48,"percentFrplEligible":13,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.3,"schoolId":65968,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Swanson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Swanson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/elmbrook-school-district/swanson-elementary-school/65968"}
