The giant magnetic graph paper and dry erase graphing materials have completely transformed our math lessons. One of the most memorable moments happened during our area and perimeter unit. Students worked together to build large rectangles and composite shapes on the giant graph paper while calculating area and perimeter as a class. Being able to physically see and manipulate the shapes helped students better understand the concepts, and many students who usually struggle with math became more confident participating in discussions. The wireless buzzer system has also brought a new level of excitement to classroom review games, making practice fun and highly engaging.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their reactions were priceless. The giant graph paper immediately sparked curiosity, and students could not wait to use it during math lessons. The phoneme phones quickly became a favorite during reading instruction because students could hear themselves more clearly while practicing sounds and fluency. Several students who are usually quiet became much more willing to participate because the tools made learning feel interactive and supportive. The books have also helped create excitement around independent reading and small-group discussions.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue using these resources during small-group instruction, math problem-solving activities, literacy centers, and collaborative review games. We are beginning more geometry and measurement activities where students will apply their understanding of area and perimeter to real-world designs and classroom projects using the graphing tools. In reading groups, students will continue building fluency and phonemic awareness with the phoneme phones while exploring new books together. The storage tote has helped us keep materials organized and easily accessible so students can independently use them throughout the day. Thank you again for making these experiences possible. Your generosity is helping create an engaging classroom where students are excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1778062041282,"projectUrl":"project/engage-their-minds-bringing-learning-to/10079150/","projectTitle":"Engage Their Minds: Bringing Learning to Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Brandt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9441695_orig.jpg?crop=950,950,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1705948152917","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9441695"},{"teacherId":5299654,"projectId":9603934,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the beautiful calming rug that was made possible through your generous support. The students and. I are truly grateful for your kindness and for investing in our kindergarten classroom.\r\nThe rug has quickly become the heart of our room. It is our central meeting place each morning, where we gather for lessons, stories, and conversations to start our day together. It is also used throughout the day for both large- and small-group activities, giving students a comfortable and welcoming space to learn.\r\nThe 30 individual circle spots have made a meaningful difference. Each child now has their own special place to sit, which helps prevent crowding and supports personal space—something that is especially important for kindergarteners as they learn classroom routines and social skills. Having clearly defined spots has helped create a calmer, more focused learning environment.\r\nYour generosity has provided more than just a rug; it has helped create a structured, inclusive space where our students feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn. Every student visits the library weekly, and this project will provide all students, the opportunity to bring their creative ideas to life in a space where they can relax, recharge, and explore their interests.\r\n\r\nThrough Makerspace activities, students are encouraged to think creatively, solve problems, and collaborate with their peers. Whether they are building a maze, completing a puzzle, or designing a Perler Bead creation, students are learning valuable skills in persistence, spatial awareness, and fine motor coordination.\r\n\r\nThe Perler Bead station adds a new dimension to our Makerspace by allowing students to read and follow patterns while expressing themselves artistically. Each student's finished piece represents pride in their work and the joy of making.\r\n\r\nBy offering Perler Beads as part of our Makerspace rotation, we're helping students discover new hobbies, strengthen creativity, and build confidence in their ability to create something from start to finish.
