My students always spend a lot of time learning on the floor together. I want to provide the children with a rug for our whole group area that is colorful and welcoming and big enough for them to have their own space. I have 18 kindergartners who are all eager to learn and love when we work together on the carpet. It is a place where we can count during calendar time, work on sight words, sing new songs, write and read stories and so much more! Our school serves two small communities where most of our families come from limited means and varied support systems where parents have to work just to make ends meet. They are very appreciative of their child's education and anything the school, teacher or community can provide.
