We are using them in multiple ways. First, I created an artwork photography and upload station in both my elementary and middle school/high school art rooms. Developing a digital portfolio is an important part of the art-making process. This helps students see their improvement and growth throughout the school year, throughout their school career, and beyond. Some high school students even use their Artsonia portfolios to apply for colleges or scholarships! The high school and middle school students are enjoying having some control over how their artwork looks in the photographs, and the elementary students are amazed by the process. Some of the younger elementary students haven't taken photos before. My student artists also love being able to share their artwork with their families before they get a chance to take the artwork home. Some artwork stays at school for a while so it can be displayed in the hallways, the public library, and the local community theater. By having the artwork uploaded to Artsonia, families can see the artwork as soon as it is uploaded. Artsonia is fully compliant with Coppa, Ferpa, and student privacy laws. Parents and guardians can choose whether student portfolios are public or private.\r\n\r\nAnother way we are using the iPad is by creating artwork with it. So far some students have done stop-motion animation with the Stop Motion Studio app. Other students have used the Clip2Comic app to turn their selfies into comic characters, FlipaClip to add animation to their drawings and paintings, and various photo editing apps to enhance their original photographs.\r\n\r\nIt's not just the art students that are benefitting from the iPad, either! I collaborated with an English teacher to create stop motion animation videos that students wrote the stories for in English class, then created the animations with me using Stop Motion Studio on the iPad. Also, the Raider Trades Manufacturing students from the Tech Ed department used the iPad and photography station to photograph the charcuterie boards they had made. I showed them how to set up the lighting and take the photographs, then edit them. They will be putting those photographs on their Raider Trades Manufacturing website to sell their products to the community.\r\n\r\n All students in K-12 will benefit from this technology in the art room, whether they are an elementary student learning the technology, or an older student working independently and gaining experience. Thank you again for your generosity, which made these opportunities possible!","fullyFundedDate":1732045069308,"projectUrl":"project/ipad-for-student-art-and-portfolios/8711874/","projectTitle":"iPad for Student Art and Portfolios","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nohr","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4022162_orig.jpg?crop=688,688,x31,y91&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1566002214139","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4022162"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38240","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":404,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"31.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":38240,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Bruce Public School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Bruce Public School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/bruce-school-district/bruce-public-school/38240"}
