My middle school students need sketchbooks, sketch pencils, Crayola markers and colored pencils so that they can practice their art skills. This will allow them to practice what they have learned, make mistakes and learn about their creative side. It will also give them a sense of ownership as the sketchbook will be theirs and theirs alone. Our school believes in the Arts. Unfortunately, the funding is not always there to provide students with the materials they need. I hope to instill in my students the ability to observe and then create from those observations. These sketchbooks will open up new ideas and thoughts as they create what is in their mind.
