We used the duck decoys and acrylic paint to learn about different species of ducks. My students chose one species of duck to research and then painted their duck decoy to match the drake version of that species. After they painted their ducks, they became the experts and presented everything they learned about their duck to the class. One student said \"Mrs. B, do we actually get to paint the decoys?\" and his face lit up like it was Christmas. When I received my packages all of my students were excited to see what was to come for the class. As we handed each student their decoy I was asked multiple times if they get to keep the decoy they painted, and of course they get to keep them after we are done. \r\n\r\nAs we go forward in the class, we finished up with our ducks once they each presented their species. Now that we have finished up with our duck decoys we are moving onto fish and fishing, which most of my students are super excited about because at the end of the unit they get to make their very own ice fishing poles. My Fish and Wildlife class isn't just about learning about various wildlife species and their environments, but it is about giving them the opportunities to learn different hands-on experiences that they can apply to their future hobbies or careers.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for donating to my classroom.
