It has been such a blessing to start the school year with new materials and ideas!\r\n\r\nThe students have been receiving a portion of the activities and items each week, making the days exciting. Some of the materials brought immediate fun and comfort, such as the sensory items and games, while other items have been used to facilitate group engagement and learning. A few routines we have already started with include adding weather/calendar time to our morning routine, thanks to the great calendar that can be manipulated and adjusted, hands-on learning of academics thanks to the upper/lower case alphabet puzzle and sorting of shapes/colors activity, and group games. Many of the games have been adapted to fit the needs of students at various levels and ensure all can participate and enjoy the activities. \r\n\r\nI am working in collaboration with other educators in the building to develop functional and meaningful opportunities with the items purchased.
