The students were lit up like it was Christmas as packages came in. We opened them as a class, and they were so excited to try everything! \r\n\r\nWe did not have a whiteboard before and that has been a huge success with helping the students stay engaged with handwriting and math. Since it has two sides, four students can use it at once instead of taking turns. However, we do use it also as a station so one student does use it at times. However, it gets them up and moving around the room and makes for more diverse learning!\r\n\r\nThey LOVE the marble towers that they can build. They kept trying different things to see different outcomes. It really helps with analytical thinking and their fine motor skills. They are constantly asking if they can build another one!\r\n\r\nThe cleaning and classroom supplies has completely revitalized the classroom. They now have supplies to clean up in the kitchen after a cooking lesson or keep their desks cleaned. Learning how to clean properly is a great life skill that they're learning!\r\n\r\nHaving the new colored pencils and materials have made a HUGE difference in their ability to complete their projects. \r\nWe do not start science until next semester, but they cannot WAIT to try out those science kits. Its hands-on which is great for their fine motor skills but it also really helps with understanding concepts.\r\nI don't know why you decided to bless my little classroom, but you have changed all of our lives and we are all so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1749693286921,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-classroom-in-small-tow/9117765/","projectTitle":"Special Education Classroom in Small Town Wv <3","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cooper","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9803644_orig.jpg?crop=240,240,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728914865864","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9803644"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39191","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":382,"numTeachers":24,"percentFrplEligible":44,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":98,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":43.8,"schoolId":39191,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Buffalo High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Buffalo High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/west-virginia/putnam-county-school-district/buffalo-high-school/39191"}
