Students worked in groups to design a maze that would lead the bee bot from the witch to the haunted house. Students used skills such as technology, engineering, and mathematics to program the bee bot to successfully make it through the maze. Students used yard sticks to measure how far the bots needed to travel straight before needing to turn. After, testing the codes given to the bots, the students would evaluate their designs and programming and make any necessary adjustments. Students also constructed a pyramid from cups. The students programmed the bots to knock over the pyramid. Then the students added the points earned from knocking over the robots by using the values that were posted on each cup. All 21 students were able to participate in this project. We have plans of using the robots to continue practicing math, technology, and engineering skills.","fullyFundedDate":1760299995166,"projectUrl":"project/haunted-house-with-robots/9797902/","projectTitle":"Haunted House with Robots","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Spaun","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10304098"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_39067","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":460,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":96,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"16.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":71.6,"schoolId":39067,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about New Haven Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"New Haven Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/west-virginia/mason-county-school-district/new-haven-elementary-school/39067"}
