The materials have allowed me to create lessons that are more hands-on and interactive, which has helped my students remain engaged and motivated throughout the school day. In addition to supporting their academic development, the supplies have helped create a positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable participating, practicing new skills, and learning from their mistakes.\r\n\r\nOne of the most noticeable improvements has been in my students' overall reading comprehension. With consistent practice and access to appropriate learning materials, I have seen students become more confident in their ability to understand and respond to what they read. They are beginning to demonstrate a stronger understanding of stories, identify important details, answer comprehension questions, and communicate what they have learned. These are important skills that will continue to support them throughout their education.\r\n\r\nAnother significant change has been the students' attitudes toward assessment. In the past, many of my students experienced anxiety when they knew Friday was test day. They often worried about whether they would know the answers or be able to demonstrate what they had learned during the week. Because of the additional practice and reinforcement provided through these materials, many of my students are now approaching Friday assessments with much greater confidence.\r\n\r\nIt has been especially rewarding to see students who once felt nervous or discouraged begin to believe in their own abilities. They are learning that making mistakes is a normal part of learning and that continued practice can lead to improvement. Their increased confidence has not only affected their academic performance but has also encouraged them to participate more actively in classroom activities.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has contributed to these positive changes. The supplies have given me additional resources to meet my students where they are academically and provide them with meaningful opportunities to grow. As a special education teacher, having access to materials that can be adapted to individual learning needs is extremely valuable.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and their education. Novel studies help students develop important academic, social, and emotional skills that support their growth as learners. When we engage in novel studies, we read the book together as a class and discuss what is happening in the book. This helps us to work with comprehension skills. We have the chance to learn and use new vocabulary. We also focus on skills such as cause and effect, understanding characters, and inferencing.\r\n\r\nAnother important focus of our novel studies is learning life lessons. We regularly discuss how the messages in the book connect to our own lives. The Christmas Pig taught us about courage, hope, and perseverance, while The Wild Robot taught us about kindness, belonging, and responsibility. \r\n\r\nOnce we finish a novel, students complete a book project that takes their thinking to the next level. These projects encourage reflection, personal connections, and creativity, making reading both fun and motivating.
