From this information, they were able to develop a food web. In addition, this provided insight on the anatomy of their digested animal and they were able to provide a predicted anatomical model of the rodent. For the duck weed lab, we are still growing it in a tank for our unit on water, water pollution, etc. Students will be able to conduct various experiments (salinity, pH, nitrate tests, etc) to determine the growth of the duckweed. I plan to use this lab to demonstrate why it is important to monitor these variables in our local ponds, streams, and rivers and how they can affect an aquatic ecosystem. The students loved the owl pellets lab! They were so excited to figure out which rodent they dissected in their own pellet. The students are also looking forward to the duckweed lab. They were shocked that this plant is considered an invasive species and look forward to conducting various tests to monitor the growth of the duckweed over the next several weeks. We greatly appreciate your contribution to this project. It has been a wonderful opportunity to show students how the topics we discuss in class relate to real world examples.","fullyFundedDate":1730483964730,"projectUrl":"project/environmental-science-resources/8713391/","projectTitle":"Environmental Science Resources","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gaynor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9371799"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38906","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":397,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":80,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"13.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":65.3,"schoolId":38906,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ravenswood High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ravenswood High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/west-virginia/jackson-county-school-district/ravenswood-high-school/38906"}
