Because the ukulele is accessible and easy to learn, students of all ability levels experience success quickly, which increases motivation and participation. Students take greater ownership of their learning and are more eager to be involved in music-making.\r\n\r\nUkulele instruction has allowed the students to actively apply musical concepts like steady beat, rhythm, pitch, and harmony in a hands-on way. This has deepened their understanding while also developing coordination, focus, and fine motor skills. The ensemble aspect in the class has encouraged teamwork, listening, and peer support, and has helped to build a strong classroom community.\r\n\r\nOverall, by incorporating ukuleles I have seen an increase in student confidence and joy in learning. The students take pride in playing a real instrument and sharing their progress, which have resulted in higher engagement, stronger musical skills, and a more positive classroom environment.","fullyFundedDate":1768956028797,"projectUrl":"project/ukuleles-needed/10039998/","projectTitle":"Ukuleles Needed","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Oltmanns","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10412092"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38864","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":258,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":72,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":94,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":1,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"8.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.9,"schoolId":38864,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Allen T Allison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Allen T Allison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/west-virginia/hancock-county-school-district/allen-t-allison-elementary-school/38864"}
