Your support may seem like a small gesture on the surface, but the impact it has made is far greater than words can fully express.\r\n\r\nWhen this project was first created, I envisioned a space in our classroom that could serve as a central meeting place—a warm, welcoming area where students could come together for reading, discussions, collaborative learning, and quiet reflection. Before we had the rug, our classroom lacked that cozy, community-centered feeling that helps students feel grounded and safe. Thanks to you, that vision has become a reality.\r\n\r\nThe moment the rug arrived, the excitement in the room was undeniable. My students were immediately drawn to it, gathering around with wide smiles and so much curiosity. For many of them, this rug has become more than just a soft spot on the floor—it's a symbol of comfort, belonging, and joy. We now start our mornings together seated in a circle on the rug, engaging in class meetings, reading stories, and participating in learning activities that foster connection and collaboration. It has transformed the tone of our classroom and given us a stronger sense of community.\r\n\r\nThis rug is now the heart of our room. It's where we share ideas, solve problems together, laugh, listen, and learn. It's where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and being part of a team. Even students who tend to be more reserved have started to open up more during our rug time. It has helped build a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment, and that is truly invaluable.\r\n\r\nBeyond academics, your gift has also helped me support students' social-emotional development. The rug has become a space where students practice mindfulness, engage in peer mediation, and simply enjoy a moment of calm during a busy school day. These are moments that help shape not just better learners, but better people.\r\n\r\nYour generosity sends a powerful message to my students—that there are people in the world who believe in them and care about their education, even if they've never met them. That kind of support is incredibly meaningful. It shows them that kindness exists in many forms and that small acts of giving can have lasting effects.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in our classroom and for helping create a space where students feel seen, supported, and inspired. We are endlessly grateful for your generosity, and we will think of you often as we sit together on our new rug, learning and growing every day","fullyFundedDate":1733520446618,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-rug/8720742/","projectTitle":"Classroom Rug!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Leckemby","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9717433"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_102492","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":544,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":4,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 2","studentTeacherRatio":"18.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":42.7,"schoolId":102492,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Spring Mills Primary on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Spring Mills Primary","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/west-virginia/berkeley-county-school-district/spring-mills-primary-school/102492"}
