Before, our students didn't have a comfortable or defined area to gather together, which made group activities and reading time feel scattered. Now, the rug serves as the heart of our classroom.\r\n\r\nEach morning, students come together on the rug for our morning meeting. It gives them a sense of community and belonging, setting a positive tone for the rest of the day. The rug also anchors our library area, creating a cozy, inviting spot where students are excited to sit, explore books, and develop a love of reading.\r\n\r\nBeyond comfort, the rug helps with structure and organization—students know where to gather, and it gives us a clear, shared space for whole-group lessons, storytime, and class discussions.
