The storage carts, organizational materials, printer ink, laminating supplies, flexible workspaces, headphones, books, and instructional materials are being used constantly. The rolling carts have been especially helpful for keeping paraeducator station materials organized and ready to go, and I also use one specifically for two of my life-skills students. Their work can be separated into individual drawers and presented one task at a time, which helps reduce visual distractions, create predictable routines, and build independence.\r\n\r\nThe printer ink and laminating pouches have also been incredibly valuable. Many of my students rely on visual supports throughout the day, so I use them to create colorful expectation posters, visual schedules, communication supports, First/Then boards, token systems, behavior charts, and individualized learning materials. Because they are laminated, we can Velcro pieces to them, write on them, reuse them, and adjust them as students' needs change. The headphones, books, instructional materials, and flexible workspaces are also giving students more ways to access learning in a way that works for them.\r\n\r\nIt was really cool to see your message about your connection to Willapa Valley and Pacific County. Knowing that you intentionally look for classrooms in this area because you understand the needs of our small community made your gift feel even more meaningful.:) Hearing that your daughter is a second-grade teacher—you clearly understand how quickly all of those \"little\" classroom purchases add up! Thank you for helping me create a classroom that is more organized, accessible, and individualized for my students. I hope the pictures give you a glimpse of just how much your generosity is being used and appreciated. ❤️","fullyFundedDate":1786052003004,"projectUrl":"project/special-education-rooms-thrive-on-functi/10431573/","projectTitle":"Special Education Rooms Thrive on FUNctionality","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Friese","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10571740_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1785724442638","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10571740"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36228","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":178,"numTeachers":10,"percentFrplEligible":45,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":72,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":13,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":12,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"17.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":0.0,"schoolId":36228,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Willapa Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Willapa Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/willapa-valley-school-district-160/willapa-elementary-school/36228"}
