Highlighters are especially helpful when students are learning their individual vocal parts, allowing them to identify important sections of music, entrances, dynamics, and other musical details. Expo markers allow us to make music theory and rehearsal activities more interactive and hands-on.\r\n\r\nThese supplies matter even more as we continue to see reductions in funding for our schools. Teachers are often asked to do more with fewer resources, and families should not have to shoulder the cost of providing the basic materials students need to participate fully in a music program. The materials funded through this project arrived near the end of the school year, but students were immediately excited to explore the new parts and begin incorporating them into advanced robot designs.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest challenges in our robotics program has been sharing limited equipment among large groups of students. These new materials will help us move closer to our goal of having two students per robot, allowing every student more opportunities to build, test, troubleshoot, and iterate on their own ideas.\r\n\r\nThe funded components will also support more advanced engineering challenges next year, including projects involving mechanical systems, gear trains, lifting mechanisms, and student-designed solutions. Especially my Multilingual students who needed them the most! \r\n Our school, Gaiser Middle School, is a very low-income school. Many students rely on the school for food, school supplies, and more. Over the past few years working here, we have always had wired headphones as part of the school supply list, but many families can't afford to get them. The headphones that we have given to students in the past break are so easily damaged that students tend to only be able to use them 1-5 times before they are damaged.
