We have already been able to use our water color paper to extend students learning about our science topic \"Animals and Habitats.\" \r\n\r\nStudents learned about the ocean habitat and how it is home to many different animals. They were especially interested in the Orca or Killer Whale. We used a tutorial to draw on the watercolor paper. Colored it with crayons and then used a water color wash to paint over for a wax resist affect. \r\n\r\nMy students were so excited with learning about orca's and completing their art project. Our next project will be based on our \"Human Body Unit and we will learn about the skeletal system. Students will use our art supplies to draw a skeleton. They couldn't wait to listen to me a read a story on it. They also love grabbing a clipboard and doing their work on the carpet too.\r\n\r\nThey love that they each get their own rectangle to sit in to remind them of their own personal spaces. As a teacher, it has made my life so much easier when trying to manage behaviors on the carpet. I can't believe I've taught 5 years without a rug like this!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for purchasing this rug for my first graders and I.
