It's a great book and I'm looking forward to discussing it and having the students explore its themes and content.\r\n\r\nShark Teeth is about a middle school girl who has to take care of her younger siblings, one of whom has special needs, when their mom leaves them alone for days at a time. She needs to find her voice and speak up with other trusted adults so that the kids can find safer homes in foster families, and this takes a lot of courage and support from her friends. Students shared that they enjoyed the characters, and some shared that it was cool to learn about their own culture through these mythology books while others were fascinated by learning about different cultures and their myths. \r\n\r\nStudents were able to compare the reading they did with their mythology books to some of the myths we read aloud as a class and some even saw the same characters pop up throughout our reading!
