These iPads work with our reading curriculum and program called iReady. The iPads will come in handy because when doing small groups, especially for a 2nd and 3rd grade split classroom, students will be able to use them while others are getting small group instruction. This will allow proper differentiation of instruction, and more engagement in learning because technology is very relevant and legitimate in our current society. Additionally, I will have these iPads as one of their choices for reading time. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
