These have allowed me to make durable visuals and speech therapy materials for my students that will save printing and paper resources in the long run and which can be used again and again. \r\n\r\nVisual materials are useful for students with a variety of needs on my caseload. They include students who are working on social problem-solving and need a visual of potential ways to solve problems in class, and a young student with a significant speech delay who now has durable practice materials that their family can use at home to help reinforce the speech skills that they are learning when they work with me. My students working on articulation sounds benefit from regular access to printed and laminated visuals of mouth shapes for producing speech sounds correctly, and one of my students is developing a ramen-themed speech therapy board game that we will print, laminate, and then use with many other students on my caseload. \r\n\r\nAll this to say, that when I use a lot of paper-based materials, they can often feel disposable and may end up lost, ripped, crumpled, or smudged. By being able to print things out, and then laminate them and make them durable, the visuals I spend time developing, as well as the materials I take the time to find online, cut out, and incorporate into my therapy sessions, I save time, paper, and ink in the long run. My materials are also much less likely to get thrown away or lost in the shuffle of day-to-day goings on, especially for materials that I create for use in the classroom. \r\n\r\nThank you again!","fullyFundedDate":1763069599439,"projectUrl":"project/visual-supports-for-speech-students/9689951/","projectTitle":"Visual Supports for Speech Students","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Langer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10244632"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_36348","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":380,"numTeachers":23,"percentFrplEligible":39,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":5,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":14,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"16.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":86.4,"schoolId":36348,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Grant Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Grant Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/tacoma-public-schools/grant-elementary-school/36348"}
