One of the perks of these materials is that they allowed us to take literacy instruction outside into our courtyard. For this energetic group of young learners, being able to move, explore, and enjoy the fresh air while building foundational reading skills has been incredibly valuable.\r\n\r\nOur students have enthusiastically participated these activities. They practiced reading CVC word cards and then searched the courtyard for hidden picture cards that matched the words they decoded. The large dice turned word building into an exciting game as students rolled, manipulated sounds, and created their own CVC words together. During small-group instruction, we spread out in the sunshine and sorted objects by beginning letter sounds, giving students additional opportunities to strengthen their phonological awareness through play and conversation. The visual timer was also very helpful. It aided us all in understanding how much time they had left in an activity and be ready to transition back inside without frustration or rush.\r\n\r\nThese resources continue to support our current literacy work as students develop the early skills that will lay the foundation for future reading success. We look forward to creating even more engaging outdoor learning experiences that combine movement, play, and meaningful literacy practice. Thank you for investing in our youngest learners and helping them discover that learning to read can be active, joyful, and full of wonder. Your kindness has made a lasting difference in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1778000179097,"projectUrl":"project/tk-phonics-toolbox-for-the-courtyard/10203362/","projectTitle":"TK Phonics Toolbox for the Courtyard","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hilary","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9999891_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x510,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1776732995321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9999891"},{"teacherId":5701421,"projectId":9937345,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the impact you have had on our classroom.
