The saying never judge a book by its cover, yet this generation the cover is the first thing they see that captivates their curiosities. \r\n\r\nFormally students read for 20 minutes daily as recommended to help build vocabulary, yet with these new books students are reading even beyond the 20 minutes, asking to borrow books for the weekend and most recently over the summer break.\r\n\r\nI love seeing students reading, but most importantly I love when they have finished reading the novel, come back and sit with me to tell me all about their reading experience, I have heard everything from \"it was totally predictable\" to \"I can't believe the author did that to that character.\" Some come asking for more and others recommend their book to their friend or classmate. This year, with the implementation of a new cell phone ban, your contribution has made a significant impact on our students' ability to stay focused and engaged during lessons. The fidget toys offer an outlet for restless energy, helping students channel their attention towards their studies. By reducing distractions and promoting active participation, these tools have created a more productive learning environment, allowing students to dive deeper into their studies with improved concentration and enthusiasm.\r\nYour donation also supports our curriculum exploring how addiction affects the brain, a topic that resonates strongly with our students in today's world. The fidget toys serve as a practical tool to help students manage impulses and maintain focus while learning about the neurological impacts of addiction, fostering both academic and personal growth.
