We have been working in book clubs for a historical fiction unit, and it was wonderful to see students crowding around each other, discussing their characters' and what they're noticing about the historical moment so far. They loved being in the sun, having more space to spread out, and being comfortable in the (still wet) grass. I saw most students really engaged in that moment as they could talk freely about their books and predict what will happen next. \r\n\r\nI am looking forward to using these throughout the spring for full-class discussions, independent reading, and more group projects. Students can write while they sit, they can read, and the ability to go outside gives us so many more healthy options to how we can conduct class.
