The new gymnastics crash mat has transformed how students experience movement, balance, and confidence. From day one, the excitement was electric. Students lit up when they saw the mat rolled out for the first time, and they couldn't wait to safely try their tumbling skills. Since then, we've used the crash mat extensively during our quarterly circus arts unit to practice foundational gymnastics movements like somersaults, cartwheels, and even front handsprings. These aren't just fun tricks—they're critical for developing spatial awareness, coordination, and brain-body connection. Research shows that activities involving rolling, inverting, and balance strengthen neural pathways that support academic focus, emotional regulation, and physical health.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, the crash mat has given students a safe way to take risks and grow. With the extra cushioning and stability, students who were once hesitant are now confidently participating. The mat has also boosted our circus arts program this year, giving students the tools they need to explore new physical skills in a safe and creative environment. Your support has made all of this possible. We had a very large sensory table that was lacking a plug, so the items we could explore in the table were limited. Now that we have two small sensory bins, the students are able to enjoy a variety of items. We can do water play, engage with soaps, and water beads! We are currently exploring seeds; we were able to fill one bin up with seeds and bird feed, bringing this seed unit a depth that we would have otherwise not had. \r\n\r\nThe bubbles and other sensory items have brought hours of joy to my classroom. Children have taken naps in the tent as needed, lay their little bodies down to rest, and have learned to listen to their bodies when they need a break. \r\n\r\nI am continually humbled by the kindness of our community.","fullyFundedDate":1726665322500,"projectUrl":"project/new-program-ready-k/8777982/","projectTitle":"New Program!!
