It has given us an exciting way to bring technology into the gym and create more engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Instead of learning only through verbal instruction, worksheets, or demonstrations, students can now interact directly with lessons, respond to questions, participate in review activities, and demonstrate their understanding in real time.\r\n\r\nThe interactive screen allows me to make learning more visual, engaging, and interactive. Students can participate in drag-and-drop activities, answer exit ticket questions, complete interactive reviews, and demonstrate what they know right on the screen. It is especially helpful in Health and Fitness because I can connect classroom learning with physical activity, sports skills, rules, teamwork, and healthy decision-making. It also provides immediate opportunities to check for understanding and adjust instruction when students need additional support. Students who might not always participate in traditional classroom activities now have another way to get involved and show what they have learned.\r\n\r\nThe students absolutely love being able to get up, come to the screen, and interact with the lesson themselves! They especially enjoy the drag-and-drop activities, interactive games, team challenges, and opportunities to answer questions on the big screen. It turns learning into something they can actively participate in rather than simply watching or listening. The excitement and friendly competition it creates have helped make lessons more memorable. Students are often eager for their turn to come up and demonstrate their knowledge.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding things has been seeing students who are sometimes hesitant to participate in traditional classroom activities become more involved. Students who learn better through visual and hands-on experiences have really benefited from the interactive screen. It gives students who may struggle with written assignments another opportunity to demonstrate their understanding and experience success. I have also seen students who are typically quieter or less confident become excited to volunteer, participate with classmates, and take ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nOverall, this technology has helped create a more student-centered learning environment where students are excited to participate, collaborate, and take an active role in their education. So long are the days of large textbooks and boring curriculum. I think I threw away about 20 gloves that were beyond being at an acceptable level to be able to use.\r\n\r\nThe delivery came at the end of the baseball unit for this semester and it brought excitement to going back to the baseball unit for our second semester.\r\n\r\nThe new whiffle ball bats allow for normal game play while stuck inside the gym due to weather. Every Friday the students get to choose their activity. They all wanted to use the equipment so badly that they decided to split the gym in two and use the new basketballs in a game of basketball and then on the opposite side of the gym they were playing volleyball and working on different volleyball skills with the new volleyballs.\r\n\r\nMiddle school can be hard to have a lot of student buy in to what we are doing and why we are doing it. When there is proper and nice equipment to work with, the students are much more likely to be engaged with the learning and take ownership in participation. The students are able to complete all the different activities and group games with proper equipment.\r\nThe students were quite literally jumping up and down when they saw the brand new basketballs on the basketball cart.
