With every school district in America facing big budget cuts, it means a lot that I can still provide my students with a state-aligned curriculum without spending hundreds of my own dollars. Thank you so much. \r\n\r\nWe started with Scholastic our first week of school... right away, there are issues about school and making new friends. I can teach expectations that match my own school and classroom, as well as teaching new vocabulary and literacy skills, showing videos that support the magazine (great for my multi-language learners), and a fun brain break that gets my young students moving! They enjoyed tasting the different candies and trying something that they are not used to trying. They loved cracking open the fortune cookies and reading the fortune that was in the cookie. We use it weekly in our classroom, it helps that students learn about social studies, holidays, cultural events, animals, and so many more. It always provides students with a take home magazine, vocabulary words, games, brain breaks, and amazing videos to extend the lesson for the students. I love that there is even an extension to the lesson where their is hands on lesson where students get to create, make, and their own artwork that goes with the weekly lesson. All of our students are learning and that is what matters!
